Art Brod
Art Brod employs a variety of typical and atypical paints and other materials – ranging from acrylics to tractor enamel applied in drip or flow technique on either canvas or board panel or otherwise discarded items such as vintage wood or roofing slate, furniture parts, tools or farm implements.
Inspired by his wife Judy Ellers and reflecting upon both years long ago at RPI in the days of Donald Mochon and with lifelong appreciation for the works of Jackson Pollock, Art took “brush” in hand and resumed painting in 2022 for the first time in more than 50 years.
Art’s original work is widely exhibited in New York and Vermont. Consistent with his lifelong appreciation of large-scale works of both art and sculpture, his paintings are often measured in feet rather than inches when done either on a single canvas or a group of canvases as in the case of a diptych or quadtych.
